What if storytelling could slow you down…

This is our very first newsletter, and we thought a lot about how to begin.
We didn’t fancy a big launch full of sales speak and bollocks, we just wanted a moment of connection.

Because truthfully, Bolton Inc started with a simple question:

What if storytelling could slow people down long enough to feel something different?

Through our work and daily interactions, we’re reminded that behind every brand, there are humans trying, creating, adapting, and showing up with good intentions.

That’s what we hope this space can be: a small moment of honesty in your inbox.
We’d love to share the stories that move us. Work that matters. Glimpses behind the lens that remind us what’s real, that celebrates the good taking shape around us.

With that said, last month was a busy one. And one project in particular sticks out. Louis filmed the Regional Energy Summit, hosted by Priority One at the University of Waikato, Tauranga Campus.

The event brought together business leaders, innovators, and experts to explore one shared challenge:
How can we create a clean, affordable, and reliable energy future together?

During one conversation, a speaker said something that stayed with Louis:

“Energy isn’t just what powers our homes — it’s what powers our hope. If we can align those two, we’ll change everything.”

From geothermal and hydrogen to solar, biogas, and biomass, the message was clear; sustainability isn’t just about technology. It’s about teamwork, vision, and the courage to keep improving.

Our biggest energy source isn’t geothermal or solar, it’s collective will. Once we decide to change, the rest can follow. And when you stand in a room full of innovators, you can almost feel the current shift, not electricity, but intent.

Featuring Ollie Vincent from PowerCo speaking on innovation and hope in our energy future.

 A Thought Worth Holding

When we begin a new project with a client, their first instinct is usually to talk about what happened.
But when we can gently shift the conversation toward what it meant, that’s when the real story starts to surface, the grit, the nuance, and the human truth beneath the outcome.

Every project, product or challenge holds a quiet truth, something universal that people can feel.

Find that thread and you’ll turn ordinary updates into emotional connection, whether that’s on LinkedIn, YouTube, or any other social platform.

Pro tip: Ask yourself, “What truth about being human is hiding inside this story?”
